We encourage parents to complete some of the activities together to help facilitate discussions about healthy social practices. What can be found in the Learning Packet? Strategies to help answer the question "What do I do if I'm feeling worried?", it also helps answer questions that students may have about Coronavirus, and it has some wonderful activities for students to do at home for their Social-Emotional well-being. Principal's Message

Hello Kensington Elementary School Family!

My name is Maurice Cobb, the Principal of Kensington Elementary School (KES). It is absolutely a privilege to be serving as your child's school leader for the 2019-20 school year. It is going to be a year of change, growth, and much learning. I'm excited to see what the future holds for our little Kensington Koalas! I believe that together we can build the brightest future for our students. I encourage you all to partner with me as we continue to build upon the great legacy that Kensington is known for. We are known for having quality teachers, gifted students, strong supportive parental involvement, and an incomparable sense of family and community!

I have had the privilege to serve as the assistant principal of KES for three years. Last year, I served as principal. I have enjoyed getting to know our koalas, parents, and community members. I look forward to continuing our partnership for the academic and behavioral success of students we love and serve.

I would also like to share our school theme for the 2019-20 school year. It is  "Building Character". We are excited to see what academic enthusiasm will arise from the classroom decorations and visual reminders of this year's theme.

As we go throughout the school year, we will continue to teach our students how to be academically and behaviorally successful. Our three school-wide habits of being Respectful, Responsible, and Ready-To-Learn will continue to be taught, modeled, and expected in all settings of our campus.

Our goal this year is to continue to promote a stronger sense of family and unity within our building. We also aim to build stronger relationships with our koalas, parents, and the community members. We will work to achieve this through a school wide initiative called HOUSE Expectations.

HOUSE Expectations promotes unity outside of grade levels, within the school, and within the Kensington community. To learn more, stop by the school and pick-up a brochure or ask any member of our Kensington HOUSE. We will be glad to share.

I am truly excited to start this year off with a great bunch of smart and eager teachers, students, and parents. I look forward to meeting and working with each of you. Let's have a great year of learning.

Maurice L. Cobb,
